Here it comes again. Some are still waiting with baited breath for their ideological favorite to enter that vicious, cut-throat battle pit known, more colloquially, as “The Presidential Race”. The buzz is that Mr. Gore is being considered for the nobel prize. I congratulate him if it is true. And so even though he has said himself that he has no interest, feels that he is far more influential and effective than he has ever been on the issues that he holds dear, more than he ever was in the political sphere, even so, some are still holding out for a Gore candidacy and think that this will be the final piece in the puzzle that will make this possibility a fit for him and for the nation.
I think they need to let it go
There’s a huge difference between leading an international environmental movement, in which Gore is both effective and popular, and being a presidential candidate…

Instead of thinking of the possibility of a nobel nomination as proof that Gore could prove victorious if he put himself in the ring again I think that it is merely more proof that Gore is right when he expresses his feeling that he is, right now, doing the best, most effective work of his public service career. Believe the man. Leave him be. Let him work. Have a little faith that maybe Al Gore knows more what works for Al Gore than anyone else.
