Chris O’Shea’s fascinating, if slightly unnerving art installation. There are more details at his website. I wonder if there is any chance of it coming to the U.S. Via Kottke
Derek Powazek is closing the doors at Pixish, “[...] a way to engage creative people online to submit, judge, and source amazing images.” Along with said pronouncement, Mr. Powazek is nice enough to offer up some lessons, learned in the process of creating and maintaining a community based art market.

“Fly Flower” by The Small Stakes for the band Grizzly Bear
The Small Stakes is a design studio in Oakland, California that has produced artwork for a number of independent bands over the years.
Insound sells everything related to independent music.
Jason Munn, of the Small Stakes, and Insound have gotten together and produced art for twenty bands. The project is called Insound 20 and there is some very cool stuff in here for some very cool bands. As luck would have it my favorite is for a band of which I have very little knowledge.

Hillary Clinton Propaganda Poster (@ hillaryclinton.com).
There’s another, less impressive version as well. Both were designed by Hollywood screenwriter Tony Puryear (”Eraser”).
All hail the great one. Hmphh. I’m still betting on Obama.

The One Day Poem Pavilion is a master’s thesis project by Art Center College of Design’s Jiyeon Song. The piece uses natural light to project sections of a poem – a Sijo, to be precise, by Korean poet Kim Ch’on-taek (1725–1766) – onto the ground or whatever surface lies beneath. The entire poem is divided into sections with each section slowly materializing, line by line, based on the sun’s position in the sky at a given time of day. (via Kottke)

I should have posted this earlier. Oh well.
A good read at Wired. Thom and David chew the fat on the economics of Radiohead’s initial, novel marketing approach to In Rainbows in addition to the wider issues associated with making money from your music in the digital age. Says Mr. Yorke:
In terms of digital income, we’ve made more money out of this record [In Rainbows] than out of all the other Radiohead albums put together, forever [...]
There are audio snippets of their conversation as well as a video of Radiohead performing “Bodysnatchers” live, in (home) studio. Love the opening photograph featuring Thom Yorke’s lazy eye.
By this time In Rainbows is now in wide release and is on both Amazon and iTunes. It’s exceptional, beautiful music…if I do say so myself.

Movie poster for Taxi to the Dark Side
John Gruber says that this poster has been “banned”. Must be the hood.
“Banned” or “Rejected“? If I can see the poster online (or in any other way or venue) is it really “banned”?

By projecting the diagram, these invisible relationships between individuals and the space between them are made visible and dynamic. The intangible notion of personal space and the line that always exists between you and another becomes concrete.

The title of the piece, Boundary Functions, refers to Theodore Kaczynski’s 1967 Phd thesis at the University of Michigan. Better known as the Unabomber, Kaczynski is a pathological example of the conflict between the individual and society
