Facts continue to hold a liberal bias.

I’ve posted about this previous to Apple dropping the NDA for iPhone/iPod Touch app development and, as I stated, there is still more that Apple needs to do to keep developers from eventually shying away from developing for the platform. There are many, I am sure, that agree. One of those is John Gruber:
Here is a complete list of what Apple must do to increase developers’ trust in the App Store system:
- State the rules.
- Follow the rules.
That’s it.
That seems straightforward enough but I wonder if Apple will get it. There is a bunch of smart people (obviously!) working at 1, Infinite Loop. Time will tell, I suppose. It will be interesting, if Apple is, indeed, planning on further developing and streamlining it’s AppStore operation’s developer relations, to see what the timing will be like.
They could wait until Macworld to announce any changes. That would insure that everyone is in one place (at least in spirit) to hear the message. I wonder, though, if they should do it sooner.

Sarah Palin knows a little something about God’s will, knowing God quite well, from their work together on that natural-gas pipeline, [...]
More of the same, indeed, for, Palin, like Bush, not only has the gift of talking to the regular folk — Not down to them but straight at ‘em, you know — but she also has that kind of special, close relationship with the G-O-D that one is going to need if they expect to secure a win in The Great Terror War of the Millennia.

The Palin Meltdown in Slo-Mo at TPM’s Election Central.
Via John Gruber’s Twitter feed. The man is obsessed.
It seems John Gruber, of Daring Fireball fame, decided to spend his Labor Day twitter-pounding on McCain’s VP choice, Sarah Palin. Man on a mission, this guy. I hope his family was ok with that. In my opinion, his best tweet.

You think I’m an arrogant [expletive] who thinks he’s above the law, and I think you’re a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong
– Steve Jobs
I’ve been consciously attempting to curtail my gratuitous and overabundant siphoning of John Gruber’s Daring Fireball content but this one was too good to pass up.
This little gem of a quote was the opening line (I dare not call it a “greeting”) of a phone call from Steve Jobs to a New York Times reporter in response to said reporters coverage of the nagging question of Mr. Job’s health.
That Steve Jobs, he really does have a bit of a potty mouth, no?

Palm developer Steven’s Creek Software vomited out this app for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
The question is: will this app be “accepted” by Apple for inclusion in the AppStore or is UI design going to be a deciding factor in which apps get in and which don’t?
As leery as I am of having one gate-keeper giving the thumbs up or the thumbs down to every app I would be just as leery of having to wade through crap like this to get to the good stuff. Time will tell …
Update: pilkycrc says “no”

If sales drop because potential iPod Touch buyers opt for a $199 iPhone 3G instead, don’t expect many tears from Apple executives.

There was a question asked during the Q&A after the announcement of all the new Apple kit on Tuesday. This guy asked it.
I don’t know. I think it prompted an interesting and frank expression of part of Apple’s design philosophy and Apple’s skill at offering a uniquely pure user experience from the first crack of the box to the click of the power button…and beyond.
Redundant, maybe, but interesting none the less.

Update:
Mr. Powazek agrees. Bob Keefe isn’t at all pleased. John Gruber holds firm.
It appears that it was a pointed question designed to neatly dovetail with a series of articles Mr. Keefe intends to write on the Intel Inside program.
And, oh yeah, I changed the title from the original “The Intel Sticker Guy is Jackass of the Week”. Bloggers’ prerogative.
